Clayton Equipment won a contract for the design, manufacture and commissioning of a specialist construction train for use on the prestigious £490m ElecLink project.

The new ElecLink electricity connection between Britain and France and will run through the Channel Tunnel between Sellindge in the UK and Les Mandarins in France. It will have the capacity to power up to 2 million homes and provide further resilience for Britain’s electricity supply.

Tribe Engineering Limited performed the design standards review and risk assessments for this project and have provided an independent production and final inspection service of drill and installation rigs built by Clayton Equipment Ltd. for Balfour Beatty.
